The Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus is an ultra-high performance summer / all-season tire designed for performance sedans, sports cars and SUVs. Specially developed to provide incredible traction and exceptional handling, the ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus features SportPlus technology that provides optimal performance on wet and slippery surfaces. Composed of a rubber blend enriched with silica and saline additives, it has a great lifespan, which translates into a better driving experience. The outer shoulder blocks improve responsiveness and cornering stability while the independent 'X' type center blocks, separated by high angle and cross grooves, provide the biting edges needed to promote traction in all road conditions. In turn, the independent inner shoulder blocks help disperse water to enhance hydroplaning resistance and traction in inclement weather. Continental’s team of engineers included wear indicators that tell motorists how well the tire is performing in dry, wet and light snow conditions. The letters “DWS” indicate that the tire has an appropriate tread depth for dry conditions, as well as for wet roads and light snow. After the "S" wears off, the remaining "DW" indicates that the tire has a suitable tread depth only for dry road conditions and most wet road conditions. After the “W” and “S” both wear out, the remaining “D” indicates that the tire has a suitable tread depth only for dry conditions.
